Clouds by VAngelLJ Clouds by VAngelLJ
Speedpaint.. clouds. About an hour in Photoshop.

Makoto Shinkai inspired.

May or may not turn this into something 'proper' when I have my own tablet back, but I quite liked it so thought I'd upload ^^

Hey! How are you? I'm the one who edited this picture before and I'm really sorry. It's just that I saw that there wasn't any warning, so i thought I could edit it - as long as I gave the credits, of course. But I should've contacted you before editing. I promise I'll never do that again, so I hope you're not mad anymore. And from the bottom of my heart, I'm really, really, really, sorry. Happy Holidays, and good luck with your art, it's really beautiful and I really appreciate it. (Also, forgive my bad English.) With love,
- Ana (aka tobenai/tumblr)

Thank you for apologising, that's kind of you. You should never assume you can edit someone's drawings, though.. that's what stock is for, and even that tends to come with rules and guidelines.
Happy holidays.

Haha, did you know that this piece was edited (just the hue from this to blue) and uploaded on Tumblr? And now has 1500+ notes? o:

Just wanted to let you know that at least 1000+ people think this is beautiful. c:

Credit was given by the way. I wasn't the one who did it, but if you feel uncomfortable with it refer to this: [link]

Even though they gave you credit? :c
Aww. Well I just thought I'd let you know that 1.5k+ people think your art is great.

They didn't give credit. Taking someone else's drawing without permission is theft, so I'd report them even if they HAD given me full credit. If 1.5K people like my drawing, I'd want them to be able to comment and fave it HERE, not on some thief's page where it means nothing to me.

Ahh okay I see. Well I'm glad I told you then if it makes you uncomfortable.

But they DID give you credit (or I wouldn't have taken the time to search you up and tell you about it). Sometimes on Tumblr, they link to the original source using a little symbol or one letter of a word (I guess for simplicity). I think in their case, the "o" in clouds linked to it, but I don't remember anymore.

Anyway, it doesn't matter anymore! It's your art!
Personally, I would love it if people reposted my art or edited it (even if it received more attention than the original) as long as they credit me. But that's just me. c:
I don't think you should think too badly of this ONE person who did give you credit. I'm sure they thought it was okay as long as they gave you credit.

It doesn't matter anymore indeed, it's been removed from tumblr :) Thank you for telling me, either way.

I LOVE clouds! I am forever taking pictures of clouds. I'm not sure why. It confuses both my husband and my daughter. I have pictures of clouds on my iPhone... on my stock site... filling up space in my iPhoto... and if all those aren't enough, I have made cloud pictures in PhotoShop Elements! :woohoo: :aww:

Clouds are very cool so I understand your fascination completely :paranoid: seeing the clouds is the one thing that I don't mind about the times I am forced to be on a plane ^^;

Gasp! I love to fly! Taking off is the best part then landing, but flying is awesome period :aww: ~ my husband won't fly. One time years ago he was on a plane that dropped 5 or 10,000 feet quite suddenly causing people to fly up and/or around, the drink cart to go astray and people in the aisles to practically do gymnastics. The pilot came onto the intercom and apologized saying there was an air pocket that wasn't on the radar. And just because of that, he won't fly.

My daughter and I were on a flight a few years ago that was turbulence all the way from Atlanta to Orlando. We were the second to the last plane to be able to land because of the weather. All other flights were rerouted, so we were lucky. It was hilarious. The plane shook constantly. People tried to read and their books would shake up and down. The flight attendant wasn't allowed to pass out anything but water bottles and she pulled them out of a bag and tossed them to us :rofl: ~ such adventures!

That sounds absolutely horrific to me. ^AwsumZ likes going on holiday and going abroad so I've had to fly, but I really don't like it. I witnessed a plane crash when I was younger - tiny little plane, probably only about 25 people on board - but it took off, gained some height and then fell to the ground and killed half the passengers; put me off for life ^^;

No wonder! I totally understand. Personally, I do not like boats. I get seasick standing on the edge of the ocean and having the waves hit my ankles. I can take about 1/2 in a pool or ocean before I think I'll regurgitate if I stay another minute. I've been out on several boats but the nausea can get overwhelming.

My sister was a flight-attendant for 19-years for United Airlines. She always said that even though she knew crew members who passed away in a crash, she could still fly. She said she felt that if her number was up on the great Roll-a-Dex then there wasn't much she would be able to do about it no matter where she was.

You know the weird thing? I've JUST finished writing a little passage in a fic about the view from an airplane window. This fits quite well. Freaky.

Pretty. Gives me a "mysterious" sort of feeling.

If you discover a way to do decent clouds with markers, you'll have to let me know! I mess about with markers every now and then - great medium, they are. Thank you ^^

i will, the problem is is that i have such a hard time with backgrounds. i dont know how to do landscapes, buildings, skies, etc. so i use prints to fill up space. the cloud idea is a great way to fill up the back without taking attention from the front and still make the background look somewhat finished and striking. so many aspects come into mind, i cant really say if i will ever be able to make the "perfect cloud/sky background" lol

Well, it's never too late to learn to draw buildings and landscapes ^^ Clouds are definitely a good 'filler' for backgrounds, though.

I quite like these. I have a really hard time with clouds myself and can't seem to get them this nice (even if only rough). I also quite enjoy the colors in the sky that you chose. Would make for a lovely fantasyesque scene :D

Well, to be honest, I've never really painted clouds before so can't give you many tips, but I looked at quite a few pictures of how I wanted to try and get them to look (in this case I googled pictures by Makoto Shinkai) and studied the shapes and colours and then gave it a shot.. see how it went ^^ so, try that method, see if that works for you. I agree clouds are weirdly hard to draw considering they're just big fluffy white things ^^; Thanks for the comment ^^
