This, essentially, is colouring practise. Thanks *JNetRocks for the lineart.

I wanted to practise my digital painting skills, since I rarely use the tablet for anything other than sketching these days. I wasn't sure on some parts, but overall I quite like it.

I think the skin, gloves and gems & their lighting are the better parts and that the leather can be improved, but this is the best I can come with at the moment - what do you think?

Critique/in-depth feedback would be appreciated, if you can ^^

I'll start out by saying that I'm both a little biased and a little harsh since it's my line art that you colored, but since you asked for critique, I figured the least I could do is give some feedback!

I have to say the first thing that struck me about this piece is the coloring scheme that you used. The soft purplish pink and the hard contrast of white and black with the soft gold edges is really just beautiful. I love the deep reddish purple color especially and I think that in certain areas like the hair where the gold and red contrast it's really strong in particular. I also love that you had fun with it in little things like the scabbard which has the black and white split half down the middle, a very unique look at it, and I haven't seen anyone else do something like this in all the color versions I've seen.

I think that as far as technique goes you could have pushed the shading a bit further, her thighs look a bit flat and the 'holes' in the belt are definitely a little weak. If you deepened the shadows and covered over the lines a bit or just tinted them so it wasn't so starkly black then I think it would be much stronger. However, this is where I have to judge my own line art, which the lines are very thick and very black and it is difficult to color over it sometimes. I really like the shading on the gloves to give it the wrinkled effect, it makes it look like a cloth glove when I had leather in mind, which is great that you have the painting skill to manipulate the line art to suit your own vision.

Really awesome work overall, one of the better colorings of my line arts that I have had the pleasure to view, and thank you so much for taking the time to do it. :)

First of all, I'd like to mention that your artwork here is deceitfully heart-stopping. The technique you have implemented is truly fan-bloody-tastic. It is understandable to me that you gave it an honest go with your absolute scope of skills. The line of this piece is greatly right for the essence that I contemplate you are striving to achieve, but however, in saying that this observation is probably fruitless. Although I must say, I contemplate that your implementation of shape could of been approached differently as I think that it doesn't duplicate the quality found in the remainder of the creation. In the end I would like to say that it has been a thrill to pen this exposition for you and I feel it will enable you to show progress with your already masterful piece.
