Vexelling the Lips: A Tutorial by VAngelLJ Vexelling the Lips: A Tutorial by VAngelLJ
A tutorial on vexelling lips. I'm sorry the file is so big and the tutorial so long, but it was aimed more at beginners and so the first half is quite detailed.

As usual with my tutorials, if there is anything you need help with or something you don't understand then feel free to let me know and I'll see if I can help you ^^

:star: Skin base you can use for this tutorial:

Make sure you are working in raster and not in vector - if you're unsure about the photoshop settings, then take a look at my tutorial: [link]

The lips are from this image I vexelled of Avril Lavigne:

Software: Photoshop CS3, mouse & pen tool (+ tablet/brush for outline sketch which is later deleted).

In the same way as I work on the lips, usually - by choosing suitable colours for the main shading/highlight areas, and then using transition layers to give it a much smoother appearance. I may do a skin tutorial one day, but I'm not sure.

Transition layers. They're layers between your first layers of shading of colours similar to the colours either side to help create a smooth transition from one main colour to the next. They can be done as more solid shapes, as gradients or as solid shapes at varying opacities.
