Cavitto Monthly Challenge - February - Winners!

Well, wasn't that fun! Sorry it took a while to get the results up; it's been an unusually busy week for everyone! So, let's get straight down to business, shall we?

First, the crossword part - we had a few entries with bits missing, and a few with some incorrect answers, and only one with everything all filled in correctly! Couldn't believe it. Anyway, to show the answers, I will use the winner's crossword, because frankly it is a huge amount neater than my own version ^^

This month's challenge is based around a rather spectacular crossword! Don't panic - it's all Cavitto and horsey related in some way, and whatever you can't find around the group, you're permitted to Google I've tried not to make it too hard

The crossword template can be found at the bottom of this blog, but please read everything very carefully before you start! There is an art component as well.

1. Find the clues for the crossword that are hidden in group blogs (they are only in blogs, so you won't need to hunt much), however, they're not in order. You're welcome.

2. Use the clues to fill in the crossword to the best of your ability. Ignore the bottom section until you have completed the whole crossword. For anyone who isn't sure how a crossword works: each clue has a number and is either for an 'across' word or a 'down' word. Across words go across the sheet, down words go down the sheet; fairly self explanatory. The number in the box for the first letter of the word is the number for the clue you need for that word. So an 'across' clue beginning with a number 2 would be the clue for the word that gos across the sheet and has a number 2 in the first box. Simples. Each clue also has a number in brackets at the end of it - this is how many letters long the word is. If it has two numbers, it is two words, the first number is the length of the first word... You get it.

3. You will notice some of the letter boxes have a circle in them - these are for the bottom section I told you to ignore in the previous step. Once you have filled in the crossword, that's when you need those circles. Write down somewhere, like a bit of scrap paper hanging around your desk, all the letters that are circled. You then need to rearrange all these letters to make a secret phrase This phrase will fit neatly into the boxes in the bottom section. You may also notice that these boxes also have numbers; this is to help you figure out which circled letters need to go where in the phrase. The first number is 1, and that's for the first word. Look for the next lowest number, and that is where the next word starts. So in this case, the next lowest number is 20, so you know that the first word of the secret phrase is found in the circled letters between words 1-19 in the crossword.

Once you have completed the crossword, please upload it to your stash and send it to us in a note to the group titled "Crossword". If you have worked in a team, please let us know who the team members were!

4. The art part! You've slaved away over this crossword - or maybe you didn't and just wanted to do the art - and now your challenge is to draw one of your Cavittos showing us how you feel about the crossword. Did it make you want to rip your hair out in frustration, or did you really enjoy it? If you didn't attempt the crossword, was it because it looked too confusing? Let your Cavittos speak for you!

Once you have completed the art, upload as normal, and if you also did the crossword, please include a link to the crossword note you sent to the group in the description. If you didn't do the crossword part, please state so.

5. Relax.

Challenge Rules:

You CAN work in teams, but you'd have to decide how to split the prizes between you; if you work in a team, all team members must draw one of their Cavittos, or you may choose to work on a collab that depicts a Cavitto owned by each member of the team
You CAN do the art component without the crossword, if desired, but you CANNOT do the crossword without the art - draw those Cavittos!
Cavitto horses only may be included in this challenge, no other breeds ('breedless' companions are fine)
Tracing is discouraged but is allowed. Any stock must be credited, and if you're using stock references, please remember the vast number of resources on deviantART, and that Google is not a stock site.

As this is a mini challenge, and they will be happening on a monthly basis, there is only one winner each month. < okay, that part isn't true this month. Prizes for each month are RNG'd and could include any of the following (some are rarer odds than others):
